Community measurement

Some Perspectives+ communities on GoKollab can show a short notice asking whether you are happy for us to count visits. Nothing is counted unless you choose "Allow counting".

What is counted

  • That a page in the community was viewed, and which broad section it was in (for example home, posts or events).
  • That a link was clicked, and only whether it led to Perspectives+, elsewhere on GoKollab, or another site.

What is left out of the counts

The counts we send and store never include your name, email, account, posts or messages, anything you type, full web addresses, search terms or the page you came from. To work out the broad section and link type, the script looks at the current page address and the clicked link inside your browser; only the broad label is sent. No identifier is stored to recognise you later. Each count has a random number used only to avoid counting the same report twice.

Like any web request, sending a count means our hosting provider handles ordinary technical information such as your network address while delivering it. That information is not added to the stored counts or the figures the team sees.

Your choice

You choose separately for each community. Your browser remembers only whether you said yes or no for that community. You can turn counting off at any time with the control at the bottom of the community page; counts not yet sent are dropped straight away, and turning it off in another tab stops this one too. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, or your choice cannot be stored or read, nothing is counted.

How the figures are used

The Perspectives+ team sees totals per community to understand which parts are useful. These counts are reported by browsers, can be incomplete or inaccurate, and are never used to decide membership, rewards or anything about you. Stored counts older than 400 days are removed by a regular clean-up job, which runs whether or not counting is switched on.

This notice explains a specific feature and does not replace the Perspectives+ privacy policy.
